PREDICTION LEAGUE UPDATE - NEW LEADER

The Prediction League now has a new leader after the completion of 2 more questions over the weekend.
Wolves became the first team in England to score 50 league goals this season( after beating Barnsley 2-0) and 3 players predicted that,AMVID -wolves fan, SOUTHEY SEAGULL - queen of the south fan, ZAC 1988 - a hull city fan, and all of them claim 15 points. Points were also awarded for predicting the score of the Liverpool/Hull game at Anfield. The 2-2 scoreline was predicted by only 1 player, AMVID again, and for that he collects a further 6 points lifting him from 29th place to 2nd overall, just 2 points behind the new leader ZAC 1988(Hull City).
Congratulations to both players. To find out your latest points and position visit the updated website at..http://thinkyouknowfootball.co.uk/

POINTS TO BE AWARDED THIS WEEKEND

This is a big weekend for all of our players with the conclusion of one question, and the possibility that two more could end as well.
If Wolves score 2 or more goals at home to Barnsley, they will become the first team in England to reach 50 league goals, but Reading are also in with a chance and it will be a close run thing.
In Scotland Rangers have just edged ahead after last weeks resounding 7-1 win over bottom team Hamilton, they now have 42 league goals compared to the 40 of Celtic-the outcome of this could be settled when the teams meet at Ibrox over the festive period. Also, Section A has a question concerning which team will top the league on Christmas Day and this is also coming to an end and in some cases could also be decided this weekend. So be sure to check back on Monday PM to see all the latest updates, and to see if the current leader(wilsonand2000) can hold on to top spot.

THE PREDICTION GAME-LATEST UPDATE

There are always a few prediction questions that will remain 'active' as they last for all or part of the season, and two that are nearing completion come from Section B Questions 7 & 8(all can be viewed at http://thinkyouknowfootball.co.uk)
These questions are about the first teams in England and Scotland to score 50 league goals, and it looks like being a very close outcome. In England it looks like a race between two Championship sides,Reading and Wolves, and in Scotland it's a tussle between guess who?? Yes,that's right Celtic and Rangers. Players in our game have as you would expect picked out Celtic and Rangers, and a few have chosen both Dumbarton and Ayr in the Scottish Leagues, but in England there have been more choices of teams, although the overwhelming choice for all our players supporting English sides has been Leeds United, with 19 players selecting them. They are well off the pace at the moment, but as we all know anything can,and usually does, happen in football.

TOP FIVE SCORING TEAMS
ENGLISH LEAGUES

1.Wolves 45
2.Reading 44
3.Mk Dons/Burton Albion 37
4.Dag & Redbridge 36

SCOTTISH LEAGUES

1.Celtic 40
2.Rangers 35
3.Ayr Utd 30
4.Dumbarton 28
5.Brechin/Raith Rovers 27

THE FIRST POST

Hello and welcome to the first ever Blog from me,the footballmagician, the mastermind(???) behind the new and slightly different football prediction game that is run from the website http://www.thinkyouknowfootball.co.uk/

The idea for the game came about when I decided that it would be good to play something other than 'fantasy football'games,so I devised the game thinkyouknowfootball, and this Blog is designed to run alongside the game to keep all players both new and old completely up to date with how they are progressing.

Basically the game is all about predicting events that happen in certain football matches that are played throughout the season, including results, scorers, sequences and many more football related events.Questions were set at the start of the current season, but the nature of the questions and choices means that you can join in at any time of the season and still get enough points to be in with a chance of becoming the winner-there will be a cut off point early next year which will be announced in the future. Also, some questions have passed so it will not be possible to play these, but from a starting total of 44,more than 30 remain to be answered. All the info you need can be found at http://www.thinkyouknowfootball.co.uk/
